Denmark prohibits farmers on buying illegal pesticides, fertilisers

   

   

   

Danish environment minister Ida Auken's proposal to forbid farmers who buy illegal pesticides and fertilisers to use pesticides on their land is being supported by the Danish Agriculture and Food Council.

   

   

The minister says the government needs to tighten the regulations regarding the use of illegal pesticides.

   

   

The minister's proposal was prompted by Danish newspaper Politiken's disclosure about criminal persons supplying Danish farmers with illegal pesticides and fertilisers.
